Sergey Grazhdankin
CEO, Reinsurance & MGA Solutions
Sergey started out his insurance career in 2002. Since then he has held various positions in general insurance and reinsurance underwriting, as well as reinsurance broking in Continental Europe and the London market. Having started in the large P&C projects department of an insurance company, he has gained broad technical know-how over several years with both Munich Re and Swiss Re in Germany, and on the broking side with Willis Global, Willis Re and JLT Re in London. Sergey is based in London and looks after GMBC strategy, business development and marketing.

Dr. Martin Brumberg
CEO, Operations & Finance
Martin is a mathematician who joined the reinsurance industry in 2007. He worked as treaty underwriter, as reinsurance manager of an insurance pool and as reinsurance broker in the Continental European and London markets. Martin started his career with Swiss Re as one of the Swiss Re Academy’s graduates. He is one of the founding partners and managing directors of GMBC responsible for operations and finance. Martin and his team are based in Hamburg and focus on administrative, operational and all other technical support for our clients.

Uwe Focht
Head of Analytics & Underwriting
Uwe started his career in the insurance industry in 2003 as a lecturer in insurance economics and reinsurance at the University of Hamburg. From 2007 he worked for Swiss Re underwriting Property and Casualty business in various markets across Europe and Asia. Before joining GMBC in February 2016, he was Swiss Re’s Head of Property Treaty Underwriting for China, based in Beijing. Uwe is one of the managing directors, based in Hamburg, with an overall responsibility for Analytics and Underwriting. He has a Diploma in Mathematics and Business Administration and a Ph.D. in Insurance Economics.

Robin Merttens
Robin was at Heath Lambert in various senior management roles for twelve years before changing career in 2000 to found and build “e-Lloyd’s”. He was COO and later CEO of that business which pioneered the move to electronic placement of insurance in London. In the 13 years he was there, he built a reputation as a visionary with the ability to articulate and sell innovative services and technology. His unusual mix of experience comprises legal, procurement, M&A, insurance and technology. Based in London, his speciality is the launch and development of new innovative products and services to the insurance market.

Andreas Richter
Andreas Richter is Director of the Institute for Risk Management and Insurance, Director of the Munich Risk and Insurance Center (MRIC), and holds the Chair in Risk and Insurance at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitaet (LMU) in Munich. He is also a vice dean of the Munich School of Management at LMU Munich. Prior to joining the faculty at LMU in 2006, Andreas held positions at Illinois State University and the University of Hamburg, and in 1999 visited the University of Pennsylvania as a postdoctoral fellow. He earned his Ph.D. (1998) and his Habilitation (2002) from the University of Hamburg. Andreas serves on various advisory boards, including those of the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) and the Risk and Insurance Research Center at National Chengchi University (Taipei). He has acted as an advisor and guest lecturer at the Chinese-German University College (CDHK) at Tongji University (Shanghai).
